The Sci-Tech Discovery Center’s integrated learning program, “Project Energy,” positively impacted over 1,400 local students in its first year. The Sci-Tech Discovery Center is a non-profit corporation that promotes science and technology education by providing “mind-stretching,” interactive learning experiences to people of all ages and backgrounds. |
Junior Achievement (JA) empowers students in grades K-12 to own their economic success by offering real-world, hands-on curriculum focused on work-readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. Through its partnership with The Miles Foundation, JA has been able to expand its programming into two new locations in Bridgeport and Decatur, Texas. |
June 16, 2010, Pooler, Ga. – The Miles Foundation, an educational foundation in North Texas, is in town to donate their collection of letters and papers from WWII to the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum on Friday, June 18, 2010 at 11 am. Ellison Miles, an oilman from Liberty, TX, was a B-17 pilot in the 92nd Bomb Group of the VIII Air Force, flying the Fortress “Woolaroc” in 25 missions over Occupied Europe. |
