First-Ever Baby Day™ Celebrated in Fort Worth

On February 8, First3Years hosted Baby Day™ — the first-ever statewide celebration of the first three years of life — across five Texas markets: Fort Worth, Dallas, Austin, New Braunfels, and Houston. In its inaugural year, the event welcomed 112 adults and 79 children in Fort Worth and over 1,480 attendees statewide.

Taking place at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas in Fort Worth, the day kicked off with welcome remarks from Mayor Betsy Price and breakfast sponsored by The Miles Foundation. The day featured parent-child activities that promoted bonding and delight, provided by local community partners such as Center for Children and Families, The Early Learning Alliance, Fort Worth Public Library, KERA, MHMR Tarrant, Texas Parents as Teachers, Play Studio, and UNT Health Science Center.

Attendees and sponsors agreed that the first Baby Day was a resounding success. One participant shared, “Everything was fabulous!! I loved this event so much! It helped me learn about new resources available to me as a mother, gave me new ideas of ways to help my child learn, and my baby had a blast. The book giveaways were wonderful too."

While the physical event may be over this year, Baby Day resources are accessible year round on the website: https://babyday.us. Visitors to the site can gather information, find activities, and connect to resources in key areas that impact infant and toddler brain development and growth, including:

  • Pregnancy

  • Play

  • Nutrition

  • Love & Attachment

  • School Readiness

Stay tuned for next year’s Baby Day event - the date to be announced on the website soon!
