Early Education Supporting the healthy cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development of children ages 0-5

  • AVANCE: Parent-Child Education Program – Dual generation parenting and early childhood education program 
  • Camp Fire First Texas: School Readiness Program – Supporting early learning centers to align with high quality standards through a kindergarten-ready curriculum for children ages 0-5
  • The Concilio: Parents as Leaders (PAL) - Curriculum for parents of pre-kindergarten level children
  • The Dallas Foundation: Zero to Five Funders’ Collaborative – Collective local foundation funding of Lake Bachman early childhood education program
  • First3Years: Raising of Fort Worth – Collaborative effort to generate awareness, support, and action around quality early education (0-5) in our local community
  • Lena Pope Home: Longitudinal study analyzing the current early childhood program’s effectiveness and general support for tuition subsidies at the early learning center
  • Momentus Institute: Collaborative kindergarten project – Pilot program in FWISD integrating social emotional curriculum in the classroom
  • The Parenting Center: Family Life Education – Program that teaches effective communication and parenting strategies for families

Education Innovation Cutting-edge approaches to learning, teaching, and developing the “whole child”

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters: The Barrett Martin Havran Little Steps Big Futures Program – In-person and online mentoring program for at-risk children
  • Cassata High School: Support of high-school drop-out prevention programming and wrap-around student services
  • Dream Outside the Box: Mentoring and enrichment program for elementary students that engages college volunteers
  • George C. Clarke Elementary: 5th Grade Scholarship Program – Providing college scholarships to exemplary students in the 5th grade across a variety of disciplines
  • TCU LiiNK Project: Expansion of a pilot program that integrates recesses and character development content into the school day for better academic and behavioral outcomes
  • Uplift Charter: Thriving Minds Program – A summer learning program aimed to help prevent “summer slide”

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math) Learning programs focused on four high-demand subject matter areas and competencies

Economic Opportunity Equipping disadvantaged students and families with the tools they need to succeed 

  • Catholic Charities: Padua Poverty Pilot – A program aimed at ending poverty through a new approach to be implemented over the next several years
  • The Philanthropy Roundtable: Economic Opportunity Program – Education, publications, conferences and breakthrough groups focused on economic opportunity philanthropy

Leadership Development Investing in the vision, innovation, and leadership of tomorrow

  • Bush Institute: Presidential Leadership Scholars – A first-of-its kind leadership development collaborative with four presidential centers

Military Appreciation In memory of our founder and WWII pilot, Ellison Miles

Rural Education Supporting education in geographic areas relevant to Mr. Miles’ history

  • Decatur ISD Future Ready Project: Future Ready Program - Creating a strong foundation in the basics of language arts, math, science, social studies, fine arts, and career and technology, combined with 21st century skills
  • REAL School Gardens: Establishing new outdoor learning garden classrooms at Decatur Elementary School
